This crisis first program is used to help reestablish an individual's coping skills through a safe means so that they can reengage with treatment and programs the following day. This crisis first model of intervention is the only one like it in the community. This program gives law enforcement a jail diversion option for someone living with a mental illness and reduces tragedies in the community. It is a resource to use to reduce the negative impact that comes with emergency situations and raise standards in crisis intervention. It is made possible from donations and is used in the Albuquerque, NM Metro area.

Cruiser Bags

The cruiser bag project creates small single serving food bags that can easily be stored in first responder vehicles. Law enforcement and fire personnel are often the first to respond to and find individuals that are in acute crisis but are left with few options to help. Giving first responders small easy to carry bags with a single serve meal and follow up information on resources allows them to immediately help the most vulnerable individuals in our community. Having a resource like this allows first responders to begin a potential dangerous encounter in a rapport building de-escalating approach.
